1) Why Value based Education (VBE) is most needed now?
Value
based Education is an investment to be made today to reap rich dividends in the
near future.
Value
based Education is much different from the content based education which is
being delivered to students time and again. It is quite clear from our current
position that the content based education has failed to deliver the requisite
qualities for the overall development of an individual. As a result , we are
part of a morally degraded society which affects our every walks of life.
It’s
high time now to take the first step in making the shift to VBE from CBE. VBE is all about changing
the entire thought process of the individual for overall personality
development. Every action performed in the world manifests first in the mind as
a tiny thought. (Like a seed.) Then the thought multiplies (Like a tree.) according to our
attitude, surroundings, character & personality and finally it delivers the
output actions ( Like fruits)
performed by every individual. With a novel practical approach, VBE moulds the
character, personality & attitude of the individual step by step through
various group tasks.
In
VBE approach , Students will be divided into separate teams and will
be given group tasks, debate and more emphasis will be given on team building,
personality development, character building. Core Values (mentioned below) will
be planted on young minds through role plays, debates, short stories &
through various ancient religious scriptures of Hinduism, Christianity, Islam,
Buddhism ..etc..
No
one becomes a good citizen overnight. One becomes a good citizen only when good
values are rooted deep inside their minds. It’s high time that one starts the
initiative through various NGO’s and urge the government with a concrete action
plan to spread the awareness about VBE. Team 360 degree views are already

When you
witness the various ills prevailing in the society and feel depressed
about being the part of that society, just observe in silence that you are
receiving the returns with dividends for the investments made by our
previous generations.
If we
don't act upon now and preach the young minds about the core values like Hope,
trust, confidence, self belief, patience, perseverance, Love, mutual
tolerance to all religions, races ..etc then out of sheer ignorance, they will
be a part of a Value degraded society in the near future which promotes hatred,
violence, murders ,rape, sexual assault, war...etc
As we are
already experiencing the heartfelt pain of being a part of a value degraded
society now , think over and preach our younger generation the much needed
values so that they will not experience the pain and sufferings that we are
experiencing now.
The young
mind of a child learns as much from its parent and looks forward to them as a
role model. Somehow, we have to make the schools to take the initiative. But
considering our jinxed education system & money minded mafias, it may take
more time. So Don’t wait for someone to take the lead. Instead you take the
initiative to spread the message of VBE teach every child you meet, the importance
of core values through a process of constant & never ending improvement.
The Japanese call it Kaizen.
They apply kaizen in their daily lives both personally & professionally for
self mastery to advance to their goals & dreams.
Value based
education caters to multi fold development of any individual of any
gender and age, but most importantly a young mind absorbs more than a old
superimposed mind. Education tries to develop three aspects of human
personality: physique, mentality and character. The various
ills we are facing today are attributable to the combined failure of the
mankind to develop these three aspects of personality particularly Character
building.
Few
quotations about character building are worth mentioning here.

Adjust the microcosm (which is in your power to do) and the

Let us

the factory in which we make ourselves and the very output i.e our actions depend upon our thoughts.

forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also forges the tools with
which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy, strength & peace. By
the right choice, and true application of thought, man ascends to divine perfection.
